Location on the sea side perfect, we had an ocean view it was fabulous , I recommend only sea view. We enoyed our stay . it was just a dream
Price it was nice but expensive.
Everything, we would recommend the hotel, we could not fault anything
Confort and location
The internet in hotel is very slow.
The location is great in front of copacabana and ipanema. The best in Rio
Ok it is the best location in the city but Cleanliness of the room was poor I found blattes in the bathroom which is quite disappointed when the value of the room is more than usd 300 per night!!!!!
We benefited from the Club Millesimal (or something similar) and the service was excellent
The minibar in the room was very noisy
Complimentary buffet breakfast and hotel 'taxi' out to the airport.
1) The toilet got blocked – for a 5 star hotel this is unacceptable. 2) The sewage system must have broken for 30-45 mins or so as the smell coming out of the backroom was disgusting. 3) The pool wasn't open for use, even though this was advertised as a picture and main attraction on the Booked.net website. 4) There was no allocated section on the beach with deckchairs (even though this was stated). 5) The main restaurant was atrocious - I told them I had a nut allergy & I received a compliment from the kitchen at the start which was riddled with nuts. I complained but the manager just didn’t listen and didn’t apologise or recognise the severity of the situation. This had nothing to do with a language barrier. The restaurant also was very expensive, had no atmosphere and, for a 5 star hotel, had a short menu.
The Club Millesmie and the view from my room
Very slow or lacking service everywhere. Room was very moist and warm due to central air conditioning. They are also charging services that are included in the Club rate; newspaper, breakfast and laundry. The Pool area was really bad.
The Sofitel in Rio has a great location situated between the two main beaches, with great views over Copacabana beach to the Sugar Loaf moutain if you are lucky enough to get a front room. The staff are very friendly & professional. It has a great gym, two hotel pools and a reserved beach area in front of the hotel. All in all a very comfortable & luxurious hotel.
I think the add on 10% service charge (to the room rate) is a little cheeky for a 5 star hotel, the reason you are paying such a high price to stay at such a hotel should be because of the level of service & facilities.
it was ok but a little overconsumed.
